Happy humpday everyone!
So you’ve gotten through half the week and only have two days (or three, depending on where you live) left till it’s finally the weekend – just hold in there, you’ll make it! This weekend will actually be coming a little sooner for me this week since we have Good Friday which is a National Holiday.. lucky me! Anyway, today I’ve got a weekend style post for you which I shot over the last weekend. It’s quite a laid back look, in fact there’s nothing fancy about it. I used no makeup at all and hardly any accessories – but since that’s what I was aiming for, I decided to post it up anyways (and hopefully you enjoy it). You may have noticed how most of the time I love wearing bright colours, however, this time I went for an (almost) all black outfit… to be honest, you’ll seldom find me in all black.
This outfit was an easy combo of my everyday navy Jeanswest jeans, printed loose fitting silk shirt and one of my current style staples – this gorgeous black duster coat from Valleygirl! I’ve been after a duster coat for so long .. since last year actually, however, I could never find one I loved that was within my price range so you can imagine how happy I was when this duster coat was marked down half price to $19.95. I found that it fits my shoulders perfectly (which is a huge score, since my broad shoulders make it difficult to find unstructured coats that fit me well) and the subtle gold detailing on the buttons and belt add a nice touch. I definitely love how although this coat is very unstructured, it doesn’t give an overly baggy look when worn – which was something I was quite afraid of to be honest. I’ll definitely be wearing this throughout autumn and winter so it was absolutely worth the buy! Since the detailing on the coat was gold, I decided to style the rest of the outfit to the same theme including my watch, shoes, handbag and ring.
I wore this out when I ran a few errands and visited the shopping centre (which is where I picked up the gorgeous yellow chrysanthemums I’m holding here) on Saturday. I just can’t resist pretty flowers … or clothes for that matter! The wedges and two loose fitting tops made a comfortable combo and the black and gold watch pulled the look together nicely. Also, I got my nails done in a gorgeous semi-bright purple colour recently which is just perfect for autumn – you can check it out in the last picture.
I haven’t done this kind of an unstructured look before so I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Also, what’s your favourite style staple this season? Comment down below or on my Insta @prettinpinkblog
The rest of my weekend wasn’t too busy, although I did go to my first ever Holi festival with my friends and had a great time there! By the time I got home, I was 20 different shades of pink and red (as you can see here) and my perfectly new white T shirt will never be the same again. Although, I must say it was totally worth getting showered in colours by total strangers since the performances and dancing tunes there made it all worthwhile. I hope you’ve all got exciting plans for the weekend coming up!
P.S.: I’ll have an “Autumn Addictions” style edit heading your way this weekend, so keep an eye out!
