Hope your day has been treating you well. I’ve enjoyed a relaxing Easter break and now I’m trying to cram as much study as possible in the last few days of my holiday break – I do this every time, sigh! Tell me if you can relate please.
Anyway, today I’ve got a super simple look for you that I initially did not plan on blogging but as I was trying to get a capture for Instagram I ended up with so many good shots that I figured I might as well make a blog post out of it! I actually shot this during my recent visit to Sri Lanka, but I figured I’d wait a while to edit the photos properly and find similar links for the featured items – so I hope you understand the time delay. Although now that I think of it, this outfit could work well as a autumn-winter outfit on a nice warm day since the colour tones match both seasons.
Here I’ve paired a red bodycon skirt (which you’ve seen before in Wine and Lace) with a loose spotted Temt shirt. To make the outfit work, I buttoned the shirt halfway and did a double knot using the ends of the shirt to give it a cropped look and make it sit just above the high waist of the skirt. Although the above picture does slightly show my midriff, when I haven’t got my arms raised above my head, the top and skirt don’t leave a gap in between. If you’re super worried about there being a gap in between, then simply use a safety pin to pin the ends of the shirt (after you’ve tied them up) to the inside of the skirt. This shirt is one of my absolute favourites and I got it on sale for under $20 – definitely a bargain! Since I was wearing this in Sri Lanka – a place where it gets super hot and humid – I chose to skip wearing any rings since my fingers always got sweaty really quickly, making the rings slip around. Instead I accessorised with just a gold toned watch and a red and gold elastic bracelet. My white Kmart wedges and staple Colette clutch finished the look.
Since I wore this outfit when I went out to get my nails done for a wedding that I was bridesmaid for the day after, I’ve included a shot of the gorgeous artwork on my nails at the end of this post. Also, there will be a post with plenty of bridesmaids pictures coming up on the blog later on.
As usual, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this look in the comments below! Also, this is the first look that was been shot with my new SONY camera, so please tell me what you think of the photos and quality. Hope the rest of the week treats you well my pretties!
P.S.: This was a completely sans-makeup look, as you may have noticed. And please try not to notice the background, I literally shot this under the stairwell in front of my apartment since I was out of time.
