Good afternoon my pretties (…or morning or evening depending on wherever you are)!
I know I’ve gone MIA recently, but I think that break was for the best honestly.. sometimes you just need some time off and to take a step back before adventuring down a new path which is exactly what I’ve been doing and I’m excited to share everything with you soon. I’m sure most of you are looking forward to the Easter break right about now and I don’t blame you – I mean, who doesn’t like public holidays?! It’s almost a crime to not enjoy them.. and I’m sure you could all use a well-deserved break or a catchup with loved ones in this time!
Back to this post, if you follow me on Instagram, you would know that this year I went to my very first fashion show at the VAMFF (Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival) to watch the Camilla and Marc runway show. Being my first time at a fashion festival I had no idea what to expect – or what to wear for that matter. But trying not to overthink it, I went for this cute off-the-shoulder floral playsuit I had bought a few months earlier on sale (with absolutely no occasion to wear it to at the time). It’s a flowy number and I love its flared sleeves and bold print, but I must admit the length of the playsuit was a little shorter than I had imagined – especially when sitting down (whoops!)
Being my classic self, I had to add some red accessories for this look, so I chose my new Charles and Keith crossbody which I had just bought from the KL airport in January and my red ODEL heels. Since the playsuit was off the shoulder and that bared my collarbones and shoulders, I decided to skip wearing any necklaces and instead opted for a pair of gold and blue statement earrings from Forever New. Of course, my classic Emporio Armani watch was included as well but I felt that the look worked best without over accessorising since the print of the playsuit was the main centrepiece. I had my hair in soft curls and swiped on my favourite Mysterious Red NARS lipstick before I headed out. I’m sure you know by now that makeup isn’t my strong suite, so much so that my entire makeup collection consists of 3 lipstick shades and nothing else. So believe me when I say that these Velvet Matte Lip Pencils by NARS are truly made to include those clueless about makeup, they’re basically foolproof and last insanely long which makes it a major contender. In fact, I wore mine to work at 9.30 in the morning yesterday and it was still there when I got back home past 10 pm at night despite me having eaten apples, quinoa and snacks galore during the day. This is my completely unbiased opinion on this product and my post is not done in collaboration with anyone or anything at all – as always, it’s just my true and honest opinion which I’m excited to share with you.
I have to say, the night was great and I was so excited to see my first fashion runway show and I will be certainly be going back for another one sometime in the near future. I must admit though that the line we had to wait in at the door probably took longer than the actual runway show itself which was a slight disappointment, but I didn’t let that ruin the night. If you’re thinking of going to see a runway show then I’d definitely recommend it for the experience – who knows, maybe I’ll see you there next time!
I hope you all have a lovely week ahead and enjoy the upcoming Easter break with your friends and family! Please feel free to post any comments because as I always say it’s great to hear from you.. Also, if you’re wondering, yes I did have this look shot by a different photographer and he is most certainly very talented – you can check out more of his work over on Instagram or Facebook.
