My name is Nipuni Padukkage. I live in Melbourne, Australia and come from a Sri Lankan background. I’m a science and engineering student at Monash University who loves fashion, Bollywood, travelling and colour – especially pink, hence the name of my blog.
I started this blog as a way to share my own personal style interests, inspirations and anything related to fashion, style and Bollywood. I’ve been following a few blogs for quite a while and have been on Lookbook for over an year. Since joining lookbook, I’ve especially been inspired by Viktoriya Sener, Jessica Ricks, Nethmi Ratnayake and Sandra Starmaan. I love seeing everyone’s personal style and outfits and taking ideas from them and incorporating them into my own looks according to my style.. and so I eventually decided it was time to start my own blog.
In addition to fashion, I absolutely love Bollywood films and Indian celebrations. I love dressing up in cultural clothes such as sarees and anarkalis and I love to try and recreate photos of scenes from famous hindi films – which you’ll see on the blog. Some of my favourite films are Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Jab We Met, My name is Khan, Ram Leela, Om Shanti Om, Main Hoon Na, Chalte Chalte and of course, my all time favourite Kabhie Kushi Kabhi Gham. Maybe you’ve never heard of any of these or maybe we share some in common – let me know!
As for the name of my blog, Pretti in Pink, it comes from my love of all things pink! It’s not that I have a crazy obsession with pink or that my entire wardrobe is pink – it’s simply that I love the colour itself, whether its in an outfit, on a flower, in a dish, on my walls – anywhere basically! I love dressing in vibrant and colourful shades – whether its for work, uni or going out. However, that’s not to say that I don’t dress in monochrome or black and white from time to time. I also have a love for blazers and wedges and as a result have an ever-growing collection of them..
As I’m completely new to the world of blogging, I know that I have a long path of learning ahead of me therefore I’d really appreciate your feedback whether it’s by commenting on the posts, through email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via the contact form. It would also be great if you could like my Facebook page.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy my posts and feel free to share any thoughts or suggestions – even ideas for a new look – I’m always keen to listen!
Have a wonderful day my pretties!
